I remember when it hit me. When I accepted that how I see the world is up to me. That my canvas welcomes whatever images I draw. That I can operate from love, or from fear. That life is what happens through me, not to me. The world opened up.

I began to sort through the many voices guiding me along my way. Indelible word play. Led me home.

A notebook in hand always, I quote life. What I’ve heard, felt, seen, touched, and tasted. A life that excites me and keeps me eager for more.

Everything in life carries with it a lesson. Everyday, I walk into class to learn to be a more resilient survivor, a more productive student, a more tender lover, a more attentive friend. Experiences rich in creative opportunity. If life gives me form, I’ll determine function…I’ll create my story.
